Solta - a summer full of fun and laughter
The history of the picturesque island of Solta, in the vicinity of Split, goes back to Illyrian times. '
Solta is a mid-sized central Dalmatian island, consisting of one larger island and 7 islets.
|
Solta, known for ages for its beauty and splendid vegetation, has been attracting many tourists and artists,
including famous Croatian writers Marko Marulic and Petar Hektorovic who visited Solta and described it in
their works. The Roman Emperor Diocletian had a fish pond built on the island.
Foreign language school
|
|
English is the "world language" and the official language of the International Summer School.
Intensive courses (20 obligatory + 5 optional classes per week) according to modern curricula
are held by native speakers and teachers from Europe and all over the world. Upon arrival,
participants are divided into groups based on placement tests and age.
|
Classes take place outdoors, in the shadows of century-old pine trees.
Creative and imaginative activities, quizzes, competitions, use of multimedia, music and films result
in interesting, effective and successful learning.
All participants who pass the final test will be awarded a certificate, while the best will
receive special prizes. If enough interest is shown, German and Italian courses can be organized.
Creative Workshops in English

NET- WEB COURSE - In a modernly equipped computer room, participants will learn how to make
a web page about the activities and events that take place in the International Summer School.
They will be taught how to edit photographs by using the computer and how to use a digital camera,
video camera, scanner as well as other equipment.

HOLLYWOOD - FILM COURSE - How to shoot a feature film? How to become an actor, director or screen writer?
These questions and much more will be explained during the film course. Participants will learn the basics
of screen writing, how to direct, shoot and act in a feature film, as well as how to use a video camera
and how to edit the film on the computer. At the end of the course, all participants will receive a
certificate, along with a CD of their work. The best films will be used by the school for promotional
purposes all over the world.

MUSIC&VIDEO; - Those talented in music can learn the most important things about the world of
music with the help of experienced music instructors, who will help participants record their
own songs and accompanying videos. At the end of the course, all participants will receive a CD
containing songs and videos recorded during the course.

SPORT - Although Beckhams, Agassies and Jordans are not born every day, it is important to
encourage children to play sports. Therefore, for all those who consider the above mentioned athletes
their role models, trainers and instructors of the International Summer School have prepared soccer,
basketball and volleyball schools.
Participants who will develop their skills and perfect their technique will be able to apply them in
numerous tournaments and competitions. At the end of the course, all participants will be awarded a
certificate, while the best will receive prizes.
Leisure Time

|
Afternoons are a time for rest, swimming, sporting and entertainment activities.
Besides crystal clean sea and pebble beach, children have at their disposal a water theme
park with a 60 meter waterslide, trampolines, water swing, waterpolo pool, numerous canoes,
inflatable boats...
|
Evenings are a time for fun, sports competitions and quizzes.
Upon arrival, participants are divided into four teams that compete every day in order to
collect points in different sports and entertainment games and competitions. The team with
the most points after 7 days wins a special prize.

The most interesting part begins after dinner - party time: besides music and dancing in
the disco or on the beach, different events such as Miss and Mister pageants,
King and Queen of Hawaii Night, karaoke, film evenings etc. take place each evening.

Accommodation
|
|
The International Summer School is located in the tourist complexes Rogac and Necujam on the
island of Solta, 10 NM from Split. The participants will stay in apartments and bungalows
with 4 to 6 beds. Each bungalow consists of 4 rooms with 4-6 beds, 1-2 showers and washrooms,
as well as 2 wash basins.

Besides the crystal clear sea and beautiful beach, children have at
their disposal sports and entertainment facilities, a water park, a traditional Dalmatian restaurant,
a pizzeria, a computer room, a discotheque...
Safety
|
Since children's safety always comes first, there is an adult in charge of childcare on
every 8 children. During their stay at the International Summer School, children are insured
by Allianz Insurance. Teachers, instructors and other staff take care of children throughout
the whole day. There is also a doctor in the tourist complex who is available 24 hours per day.
