About

The south of the island of Dugi Otok is determined by the Telascica Nature Park. The bay, which is up to 1800 m wide, cuts over 8 km inland and thus represents the largest natural harbor in the region. In addition to the sea, there is also the 2 km long salt lake Mir in Telascica Park and an old sea pine forest. In order for this fragile ecosystem to remain in its sensitive balance for as long as possible, there is a strict ban on cars in the park. If you want to swim in the lake or anchor in the bay and “just quickly” buy some groceries or new sunscreen, you have to prepare for about an hour’s walk. Or longer if you stop a few times enchanted and admire the landscape, which is more reminiscent of the Caribbean or the South Seas than Eastern Europe.
